Canopy adds new security, workflow and collaboration capabilities to its flagship data breach response application
CanopyCo LLC, the data mining and protected-data discovery software developer, announced the roll-out of several new features to enrich users’ experience with its data breach response software. With the new features, users gain greater control over the breached dataset, more thorough insights into a project’s progression, and the ability to share insights with cross-functional team members about the correlations among personally identifiable information (PII) and personal health information (PHI). Canopy’s new AWS S3 integration ensures faster throughput at scale, support for unlimited data volumes, and optimal security for every project.
Canopy is used by cyber forensics teams, document reviewers, and other managed service providers to accelerate breach responses and conclusively identify the individuals who have been affected by a corporate data breach.
“The first generations of Canopy brought unprecedented efficiency and acceleration to the monumental work of identifying which people had their sensitive information compromised by a breach,” said Oran Sears, co-founder and chief technology officer for CanopyCo. “Canopy was already shown to accelerate response projects by 25% and reduce the quantity of documents falsely promoted for human review by more than 40%, but now that we’ve matured into a collaborative platform for the various specialists involved in a data breach response, I’m confident those numbers will continue to climb.”
The Updated User Interface includes an upload wizard with new load-file import functionality, flexible processing options, and the ability to save and select templates, as well as a new dashboard where users can track processing progress and monitor real-time statistics about the project.
New collaboration functionality enables cyber forensic teams and managed review service providers, for example, to seamlessly work together across multiple active projects, to comment on breached documents, reply to comments, and to mention team members in comments – as is commonly done on social media platforms. These new capabilities foster discussion among team members and accelerate the pace of decision-making.
Various application security updates, including multi-factor authentication, enable this inter-project collaboration to be done safely and securely. And, furthering the company’s cloud-native commitment, Canopy’s AWS S3 integration provides sophisticated and scalable data storage for each project.
Canopy’s data breach response application is offered on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) basis. For more information or to schedule a demonstration of the latest version, visit canopyco.io or call 202-9CANOPY.
